My 30 minute walk to school can go one of two ways, through the city of through side streets. And since my school is in the city, the only quiet way to enjoy my morning is to take the road less traveled. These neighborhoods are lined with cute little houses with bright doors, obscure tiny parks, and lots of trash. Still, I feel like I'm living in Ireland not as a tourist, but as a welcomed inhabitant.
All of the "street" signs are somewhere sneaky on a building. But don't worry, Dubliners don't use street signs to get where they want to go. Rather, they use landmarks. Barely any streets have signs, and if they do they are worn down and never looked at. It's the weirdest thing and also horrible for someone like me who has no sense of direction whatsoever. But who minds getting lost in a city with a pub at every corner?
The pigeons here are just like New York. They don't care about humans, they just love all the trash people leave out. Needless to say, my little photoshoot went well.
Oh the Headline Bar, not like I've been there because it's conveniently on the corner of where my dorm is...but if I had, I certainly wouldn't have my own table where all of us hang out. Interestingly, this bar only serves Irish beer, which means that they don't serve Guinness because it's actually English. Again, I wouldn't know. But if I did, I wouldn't mind expanding my horizon to the many delicious stouts they do serve.
